Bruce Schneier is one of the US’s more well-known information security professionals and authors.
Schneier is engaged in several security-related activities spanning academia — notably cryptography, computer science, and privacy — as well consulting, writing and publishing. He is currently a fellow at Harvard Law School’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society and a program fellow at New America’s Open Technology Institute.
Schneier was the CTO of Resilient Systems when IBM purchased it in 2016, and he worked with IBM until his departure in 2019. Aside from employment at for-profit companies since,
Schneier is known for developing or jointly developing cryptographic algorithms including block and stream ciphers, hash functions, and pseudo-random number generators.
